Measure the outside, not the bore
A roll’s outside diameter describes its overall circle; the core hole is a different measurement. Both can appear on the same specification line. Keep them in separate fields to avoid a false fit decision.
Do not infer length from appearance
Thickness, winding and core size affect how much paper occupies a roll. Two rolls with similar outside diameters can have different lengths. Our price tool uses the seller’s declared length and never estimates it from diameter.
Check a model-specific limit
The checked Star TSP143IV product page states up to83mm roll diameter. That one limit does not establish the other required fields or apply automatically to every Star printer.
Before you decide
- Separate OD from core
- Use declared length
- Keep maximum diameter model-specific
